2. Objectives of the Practice
This practice aims at making the students confident enough to perform the Yagya and other activities related to this practice.
3. The Context
Yajna has been called "Shresthatamaya Karma" in the first Tantra of Yajushi Shruti and in Shatapath Brahman it has been translated as "Yagno Vai Shreshttamam Karma".
The students were able to recite the mantras chanted during Yagya practice but they were not completely prepared to perform the Yagya (the preparation and the procedure of the Yagya) on their own. The students lacked the facility of Yagya/Hawanshala, Consequently students knew hawan only in theoretical terms lacking in practical terms.
4. The Practice
Since the Yagyshala is being utilized by the students since October 2022 this practice makes students skilled in away so that they can use this skill in the society community and earn their living also.
5. Evidence of Success
The students have turned out as resource person for a very specialized service.
2. Objectives of the practice
In order to provide practical knowledge to the students of this institute by linking the ancient Indian knowledge system with modern knowledge and science in the current perspective, they are taken on a tour to heritage sites like Jantar Mantar, Indian Oriental Studies Institute, Pothi Khana etc.
Every year students studying Jyotish is taken to the historical JANTAR- MANTAR in order to have a first-hand experience of the astronomical instruments.
3 .The context
The students should have a good knowledge of astrologer's calculus. Along with this, they should be able to prepare Panchang, prepare Janam Kundli, prepare Prashna Kundli and determine the dates of fasts and festivals.
4. The practice
Students are fortunate to visit the historic observatory and have an opportunity to study the astronomical and cosmological concepts. 19 Three dimensional structures present in the observatory and it is a rare resource from which students are expected to gain the most.
5. Evidence of success
Students have gained the knowledge to prepare horoscope, Panchang or Hindu calendar horary chart. They can identify or point out the auspicious time for the commencement of any important Endeavour in life. They identify a suitable time keeping in view the day of the week (Vara), lunar day (Tithi), constellation (Nakshatra),the position of the Sun and Moon and the placement of important planets in one's horoscope. As a result of which the students got ample opportunities of employment.
